Islington Townhouse

Extensive renovation, including new extension and various structural changes to the internal layout of a charming Islington townhouse, as a family pied-a-terre. Full Interior Architecture, Interior Design, FF&E & Creative Direction throughout.

The adjoining spaces on the ground floor were zoned appropriately but tied together through their palettes, with a tiled detail added to the opening between the two spaces to draw the eye through from the library to the reception room beyond.

The Breakfast Room, connected to the Kitchen, allows for more informal family dining, with bold tones & textures to complement the array of artwork hanging above in a gallery format. The new floor tiling gives a subtle nod to the monochromatic kitchen, and adds a playful touch to the space.

Emma collaborated with the client to design & make various lighting pieces in the house, including these wall lights in the dining area, creating bespoke solutions fit for each space.

The newly built extension at the back of the house formed this informal, multi-functioning space - a tv snug / reading space / spare bedroom for overflow guests, with views of the newly landscaped garden beyond. We added interest via its rich yet earthy colour scheme, tongue & groove clad ceiling & beautiful Howe wallpaper.

The Master Suite was carved out of a previous pair of bedrooms & small bathroom, to vastly improve the flow of the first floor, creating a spacious, serene Master Bedroom & en suite, with ample wardrobe space between the two. We opted to keep the colour palette tonal, with a fresh & clean Celadon tone to the walls & ceiling, complimented with richer greens & earthy tones throughout.

"Emma expertly integrated herself with the wider project team and led the creative side of this full house renovation from concept to completion. Emma took our vision and provided creative solutions throughout to implement our aspirations, pushing us on colour, and adding character in ways we hadn’t thought of. Retaining a professional approach throughout, Emma is very approachable and collaborative. It is obvious she cares deeply about the process as well as the end result - she is truly a delight to work with.”
