Acton Family home

A full renovation of this Edwardian family home including a large full width extension & refurbishment throughout.

A fully bespoke kitchen designed by Emma Ainscough, complete with sculptural curved island finished in Bauwerk, with a durable gloss finish to the foot rail.

We added a bespoke pantry to the kitchen to aid the flow & practicality of the space, using a checked vintage deadstock textile as an undercounter curtain, reminiscent of a tea towel.

Emma sourced this antique sideboard for the dining area, attributed to Henning Kjaernulf, c1960s, bringing richness & a contrast to the fresh extension space.

The playroom is a space that can grow with the family - we kept the walls neutral but added in subtle yet fun details such as these arched book shelves with storage beneath on little bun feet, and candy stripe mouth-blown glass pendant light. The large antique chairs were sourced at an antiques market and reupholstered to suit the feel of the space. They are deceptively light-weight and so easy to move around to suit changing furniture layouts.

The snug, connecting through to playroom through double bifold doors & curtain (out of shot), is the grown-up counterpart to the above playroom, home to our client’s book collection & providing a serene haven for TV evenings & entertaining alike. We added a window seat to the bay window to allow for additional seating when required, as well as to soften the window with colour & texture.

The large master bathroom was made possible by knocking two smaller bathrooms together, providing access from the bedroom as well as the landing.

We took this calming aquamarine wall colour up to the cornice & over the ceiling to create the illusion of height & keep the small shower room feeling cohesive.
